Benefits of Flexibility Exercise
Flexibility exercises (stretching exercises) maintain and improve the motion in our joints. Injuries, inactivity, and age reduce joint flexibility, which makes flexibility exercise more important as we age and when we become active after injury or inactivity. Flexibility is frequently limited in our hips and ankles and middle back. Flexibility exercises help prevent joints from excess wear and damage due to limited motion, and they help maintain posture when walking, standing, bending, and sitting.
